material
Leather is part of our family history and has shaped our imagination. As an ancestral material, we wish to pay tribute to it while inserting it in a contemporary and current approach.
Experts in leather, we carefully select them for their durability and their hand, which we want to be both natural and reassuring.
Although controversial, we remain convinced that leather remains the most sustainable option today, and the one most aligned with our commitments to sustainability and proximity.
We therefore carefully select them from trusted suppliers who share our values.
ERRO signature, all our bags are made of vegetable leather and grained leather. Selected for their quality, our leathers will patina nicely with time, bringing a unique touch to your pieces.
Smooth leather
grained leather
A reference in its field since the 1950s, our vegetable-tanned leathers come from the Miret y Cia tannery, which selects and treats European hides using natural extracts and organic products.
Intransigent on the reliability and solidity of our leathers, the vegetable tanning guarantees a rigidity favourable to the pieces of harness present on our bags.
Associated with our vegetable leathers, we work with grained leathers with a soft and supple touch.
These leathers, both resistant and reassuring, bring elegance and refinement to our pieces. They contrast harmoniously with the rigidity of the vegetable leathers used for the harnesses of our bags.
Origin
We source our leather from certified Leather Working Group (LWG) and Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant partners.
The skins, selected for their first quality, are of European origin. They are then treated and transformed by our partner tanneries in Northern Italy and in Barcelona, Spain.
Created in 2005, the Leather Working Group brings together different actors of the leather industry such as suppliers, manufacturers, brands and tanneries.
This auditing protocol, which brings together more than 1,000 members across the leather value chain, develops and maintains certification standards to evaluate the environmental performance of various parties. It is a powerful and credible tool that is constantly evolving.
Its goal is simple: to enable the transition to more sustainable and responsible leathers. The LWG promotes more responsible practices such as water management, sustainable energy use, greenhouse gas emission reduction, waste management and hide traceability.
According to their commitments, companies are awarded grades in the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, evidenced by a label and a certificate.
